Online concerts to help artistes

Mysore/Mysuru: With professional artists facing untold difficulties due to lack of programmes, activities  and loss of income due to COVID crisis, MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev said that efforts will be made to organise online music concerts  and telecast them under the aegis of ‘Kala Samarpane’ shortly.

He was speaking after releasing the poster of ‘Kala Samarpane’ at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday.

Pointing out that ‘Kala Samarpane,’ a three-day programme featuring musical concerts of renowned musicians and artistes was  virtually held at Kalamandira premises recently in the absence of audience due to COVID restrictions, Rajeev said that the video-recording of these concerts have been completed in full, which will be telecast through ‘Namma Mysuru’ social networking site shortly. 

Continuing, Rajeev said that the proceedings collected from ‘Kala Samarpane’ programmes jointly organised by Rotary Heritage Mysore and  Mysuru Artistes Association will be distributed among artistes of Mysuru, he said that the distribution will be done in a transparent manner by directly crediting the money to the Bank account of artistes.

He appealed art-lovers, philanthropists and donors to donate liberally for the welfare of artistes who are hard hit by the pandemic.

Rotary Heritage Mysore President H.M. Venkatesh, who also addressed the press meet, called upon art-lovers to donate generously for providing financial assistance to artistes who are in distress due to loss of income.

Leaders Ajay Shastri, Gurudatt, Raghunath, D.N. Raghavendra, Ganesh Bhat and others were present during the press meet.
