Online frauds: Two cheated of over Rs. 23 lakh in city

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, online fraudsters have cheated two persons of over Rs. 23 lakh in city after promising them part time job and huge commission. 

In the first case, 33-year-old Vijayendra Poojari, a resident of Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, near Hampi Circle, received a message on his Telegram App which offered part time job. Poojari was then asked to invest money and complete the tasks given to him to earn huge commission. The fraudsters then got Rs. 4.81 lakh transferred from Poojari thus cheating him.

In the second case, 29-year-old Y.N. Siddesh, an accountant and a resident of Aravindanagar, was asked to subscribe YouTube channels and receive huge commissions and an amount of Rs. 100 was also deposited to his Bank account as commission.

Siddesh was later asked to invest money with a promise of 40 to 50 percent commission on his investment and the fraudsters got Rs. 18.62 lakh transferred from him thus cheating Siddesh.

Both the cases have been registered at City’s CEN Police Station.
