Mysore/Mysuru: Columbia Asia Hospital, Mysuru, in association with Edin Synergy Global, had organised an online session on the current situation of the pandemic and its effect on business and the way forward through a digital platform on Sept. 22. It focused on ‘COVID-19: New Paradigms and Realities.’

The session addressed issues like how to manage a business, logistics, staffing, and survival, in alignment amid the pandemic.

Col. Rahul Tewari, General Manager, Columbia Asia Hospital, Mysuru, who had earlier served as a Commanding Officer of a 1,200 soldier strong regiment in the Indian Army and has commandeered a multi-nation UN peacekeeping force in Sudan, was the main speaker.

He said: “The pandemic affected the manufacturing and the service sector — hospitality, tours and travels, healthcare, retail banks, hotels, real estate, education, health, IT, recreation, media and others. It has literally bought our social and economic life to a standstill. While COVID-19 has undeniably altered the economic landscape; Indian businesses have shown resilience in the face of adversity. Businesses will have to make varying degrees of adjustments to adapt to this altered landscape which will be the new normal for the foreseeable future. The economic impact of COVID-19 in India has been largely disruptive.”

The moderator of the session was Hemalatha, Mentor and Consultant of Edin Synergy. The session was attended by more than 90 entrepreneurs, business leaders, CEOs, CHROs, HR professionals, doctors, academicians and other professionals.
