Mysore/Mysuru: A five-day online training-cum-workshop on Testing and Evaluation for Assistant Professors, Lecturers, Teachers and Research Scholars of Kannada from all over India, began at National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru on Oct.5.
In his inaugural address, Prof. P.R. Dharmesh Fernandez, Professor-cum-Deputy Director, briefed about the activities of CIIL and its various schemes. He also emphasised the importance of item writing skills in process of assessment and evaluation.
Dr. Pankaj Dwivedi, Officer In-charge of NTS-I, stated that the workshop has been designed in such a way that it will benefit not only the scholars engaged in teaching and testing of Kannada language and literature but also all academic stakeholders who are part of an educational set up in general.
Dr. R. Shakunthala, Junior Resource Person (JRP)-Academic, welcomed.
The experts who have been invited to deliver lectures are Prof. A. Murigeppa, former Vice-Chancellor, Kannada University, Hampi; Prof. Lakshmi Narayana Aurora, formerly of University of Mysore; Dr. B.K. Ravindranath, Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies, University of Mysore and Dr. M. N. Venkatesh, Government PU College, Sigli, Lakshmeshwara Taluk, Gadag.
Besides them NTS-I faculties Dr. V. Ilangovan, Dr. Biresh Kumar, Dr. R. Shakunthala, Dr. M. Manjunatha, K.K. Pradeepa and Technical JRPs Ancy Thomas, K. S. Raghavan, Ghazala Sulatana, Amit Kumar Jha and N. Kashyap will train the participants in various academic and technical sessions of this online workshop.
Prof. C. G. Venkatesha Murthy, Director, CIIL, Mysuru is overall patron of the workshop.
In all, sixty-five teachers, research scholars, who are engaged in teaching and research of Kannada from various Higher Secondary Schools, Universities and Colleges of India, are participating in this online training, according to a press release from CIIL.
