Sir,
The ‘Operation Chamundi’ which was re-introduced by our City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta last month with the assistance of Siddartha Traffic Police and K.R. Traffic Police in checking the two-wheelers for wheeling, zig-zag, shrill horns and four-wheelers ridden/driven by youngsters on Chamundi Hill road is definitely a good drive.
I am a regular visitor to Chamundi Hill since the last 28 years. Today it was a peaceful ride as there was not much of youngsters seen in their two-wheelers or four-wheelers. Most of the youngsters, including the underaged used to ride their bikes very rashly and dangerously.
Many tourists and devotees visiting the Hill were not feeling safe and comfortable in going up the Chamundi Hill. The implementation of ‘Operation Chamundi’ will definitely help those visiting the hilltop a safe and peaceful journey now.
Even after Colleges reopen, ‘Operation Chamundi’ can be continued on weekends too in order to control rash driving and riding by underaged.
‘Operation Chamundi’ will also put brakes on illegal activities by youngsters atop the Hill. On behalf of all road users to Chamundi Hill, I would like to thank our Police Commissioner and his team for taking such a good and people-friendly initiative.
