Operation Decoy: 66 auto drivers booked for refusing to ply, demanding excess fare

Mysuru: The N.R and V.V. Puram Traffic Police, who conducted ‘Operation Decoy’ on Jan. 13 and Jan. 16 in their jurisdiction, have booked 66 auto drivers for refusing to ply besides demanding excess fare from customers.

The cops, who went in disguise as customers, conducted the operation at Railway Station Circle, Govt. Ayurveda Hospital Circle, Irwin Road, Nehru Circle, Meelad Park junction, RMC junction, Fountain Circle and other places on the two days, booked 66 erring auto drivers and collected more than Rs. 6,300 fine from them. The cops have also recommended the RTO to suspend the Driving Licenses of these erring auto drivers.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe supervised N.R. Traffic In-charge Inspector R.P. Ashok, V.V. Puram Traffic Inspector C.V. Ravi and staff of other Traffic Police Stations in the operation.
