Organisations and associations distribute food kits, groceries to the needy

Karnataka Rajya Mahavidyalaya Shikshak Sangh (KRMSS), in association with Janajagaran Trust, distributed grocery kits to needy guest lecturers of degree colleges in city under ‘Guruspandana’ programme in city recently.

The guest teachers and temporary teachers of Government, University and Private Colleges, who are affected by Corona and whose family dependents are affected by Corona, are identified as beneficiaries for distribution of grocery kits and medical kits besides facilitating in hospitalisation and medical care.

The kits were distributed by RSS Vibhag Pracharak Akshay. KRMSS State General Secretary G.C. Rajanna, State Vice-President A.B. Jayanna, KRMSS Mysore University Vibhag President Dr. K.V. Suresha, General Secretary Kumar Belale, Vice-President R.N. Dinesh and Praveen Kumar Mellalli were present.

Sri Shankara Jayanthi Sabha, distributed grocery kits to poor families who are in deep trouble due to COVID pandemic. The kits were distributed by MLA L. Nagendra and former Mayor R. Lingappa in the presence of Corporator Vedavathi and Sabha President H.R. Sudarshan.

Corporator M.U. Subbaiah distributing grocery kits donated by Federation of Christian Associations, Mysuru, to about 120 poor families. The kits were distributed at Konkan Bhavan in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage in city. Federation President George William D’Souza, Vice-President James Christopher, Convenor Arokya Das, General Secretary Jacob Menezes, Treasurer George Samson, Joint Secretary S.R. Lobo and others were present.

Sri Hosamutt distributed ragi, pulses, coconuts and fruits grown in the Mutt premises to needy women recently. The distribution was done by Sri Hosamutt President Sri Chidananda Swamiji. Thinker Dr. Helavarahundi Siddappa, Sharana Mandali President Mugur Nanjundaswamy, social worker K.K. Khandesh and others were present.

In a bid to feed stray dogs, who are suffering due to lack of food as the roadside eateries and hotels are shut due to COVID-induced lockdown, Darshan Abhimani Balaga are providing rice-mixed milk, biscuits and other eatables to over 300 stray dogs at Siddarthanagar, Dr. Rajkumar Road, Maharaja’s College Grounds, Gandhinagar, Nazarbad and other localities in city. Balaga Convenor Harish Naidu, Chethan Kantharaj, Rohit, Manju, Vinod and others were present.

Lions Club of Mysore Vaidyas with the support of Malabar Gold distributed 120 grocery kits to 22 teachers, 44 needy people and 24 slum-dwellers. The kits were sponsored by Malabar Gold. Director of Malabar Gold Sharfuddin spoke about the service rendered by his company and assured more service along with Lions. Ln. Ravindranath, Secretary of Shantala School Ln. Santosh, Ln. Revanna, Ln. Venu and others were present.

Sri Vishwakarma Mysuru Zilla Maragelasagarara Kshema-bhivridhi Sangha distributed grocery kits to the poor in city recently. Sangha District President Jayashankar, Krishnamurthy, Nagarajachari, Chandan Kumar, Nataraj and others were present.
