Mysuru: Ulama-O-Huffaz Mysore District, under the aegis of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, will stage a protest tomorrow in Mysuru to oppose the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025.

Addressing a press conference at Pathrakarthara Bhavan this morning, Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) Chairman Ayub Khan said the protest will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm at Eidgah Grounds in Tilaknagar, under the guidance of Sir Khazi of Mysore, Hazrat Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff, and the chairmanship of Mufti Syed Tajuddin.

Ayub Khan stated that the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, was passed by the Parliament on April 4 and alleged that the Central Government was targeting a particular community. He said the peaceful protest is being organised to oppose the legislation, and around 30,000 people are expected to participate.

Several organisations — including Muslim, farmer and Dalit groups — have extended their support to the protest, he added.

Moulana Mufti Tajuddin, Moulana Mohammed Zakaulla, Moulana Ayub Ansari, K. Shivaram, Suhail Ahmed, Rafatulla Khan, and Asadulla were present at the press conference.
