Over 15 injured as auto ferrying garment workers rams into roadside carts, vehicles

Mysuru: Over 15 persons were injured, when a passenger auto ferrying garment workers rammed into roadside carts selling chats and two-wheelers at Hootagalli on Monday evening.

The incident took place when the driver of the auto, which was carrying workers of a garment factory at Hootagalli Industrial Area and was proceeding on KRS Road, lost control of the vehicle. As a result, more than 15 persons including garment workers in the auto, two-wheeler riders and people standing near the chat centres being injured.

The injured were treated at a private hospital in Hootagalli.

V.V. Puram Traffic have registered a case in this regard.

Other sources said the mishap took place due to rash and negligent driving by the auto driver resulting in the auto toppling and crashing into chat centres and two-wheelers and injuring over 18 persons.

It is learnt that one person, who suffered a fracture on his leg, has been admitted to K.R. Hospital.
