Over 1,700 aspirants from district apply for positions in Boards and Corporations

Mysore/Mysuru: With the party returning to power with a thumping majority in the May 10 Assembly polls, the District Congress has thus far received 1,770 applications seeking positions in the Government-run Boards, Corporations and other bodies.

According to District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, the District Congress has received a total of 1,770 applications from eight Assembly segments of district represented by the Congress.

The applications received include 227 from K.R. Nagar Constituency, 223 from H.D.Kote, 100 from Varuna, 200 from Chamundeshwari, 110 from Periyapatna, 285 from Hunsur, 200 from T.Narasipur, 275 from Nanjangud and 150 directly at the District Congress Committee (DCC).

Continuing, Dr. Vijaykumar said that following directions from Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, the Mysuru District Congress Committee will send two separate lists to Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar tomorrow (July 18).

He further said that the aspirants, who want to apply in the coming days, will have to directly send their applications to the KPCC Office located on Queens Road, Bengaluru, through Registered post.

Long-time Congress workers, who have not enjoyed any positions or posts, have been given preference, Dr. Vijaykumar said adding that castes and communities have been taken into consideration  for the posts based on reservation and representation.
