Over 500 enthusiasts take part in Apollo Climbathon at Chamundi Hill

Mysore/Mysuru: To celebrate World Health Day and promote a healthy lifestyle, Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, had organised Apollo Climbathon Challenge “Step by Step 1001 Steps” yesterday from the foot of Chamundi Hill.

Over 500 people of all age groups took part in the event flagged off by Dr. H.V. Satish, Senior Plastic Surgeon, Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru and N.G. Bharateesha Reddy, Vice-President and Unit Head, Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru.

The participants included working professionals, homemakers, students, advocates, and retired citizens from corporates, banks, educational institutions, pharma companies, engineering colleges, hospitals, nursing colleges, Police Department, NGOs, yoga schools, media and so on.

The team of physiotherapists from Apollo BGS Hospitals assisted the first-time climbers while the regular climbers enjoyed savouring energy drinks throughout their climb.

Dr. Satish called upon the participants to prioritise their physical and mental health.

Participants also enjoyed an entertaining Zumba session with a health quiz.

The prize winners of the Climbathon are as follows:

5-10 years: B.P. Vriddhi Ponnavva – first, Maanika Aadya – second, Bhuvi Ramesh- third.

10-18 years: R. Anirudh – first, Vishal Uthappa – second, Hansika Rakesh – third.

18 years and above (Men): Vinay – first, M. Akash – second, Ganesh – third.

18 years and above (Women): Kusuma – first, Reshma – second, Archana Ganeshaiah – third.

60 years and above: R. Venkatesh – first, Govinda Raj Singh – second,  Nagaraj – third.
