P.G.R. Sindhia suggests for an uptick of Scouts and Guides in Schools

Mysore/Mysuru: Stressing on the need for increasing the number of Scouts and Guides in Schools,  Karnataka Scouts and Guides Chief Commissioner and former Minister P.G.R. Sindhia said that the parents must be sensitised on the activities and services of Scouts and Guides.

He was speaking after inaugurating the one-day Information Workshop for Education Department Officers of Mysuru District at Bharat Scouts and Guides Office near the Deputy Commissioner’s Office here on Wednesday.

Highlighting the role of teachers in promoting Scouts and Guides, Sindhia said it is important that teachers educate the children on the activities of Scouts and Guides.

DDPI Ramachandraraje Urs said that Scouts and Guides play a key role in children’s discipline and social sense.

 Maintaining that the Scouts and Guides Unit in all Schools will be re-activated, he said that new Units will be started at whichever Schools that do not have one.

Scouts District Commissioner T.S. Ravishankar, Guides Commissioner Pushpavalli, District Treasurer Dr. K.B. Gurumurthy, District Secretary Abdul Jameel, District Joint Secretary S. Sujaya, Assistant District  Secretaries T.S. Mohan Kumar and Prabhakar Bhat, BEOs Ramaradhya, Maheshwari and Jagadish and others were present.
