Mysuru: The Centenary celebrations of Mysuru Palace Padmaraj Pandit Jain Brahmin Vidyarthi Nilaya (student hostel) located on JLB Road, Chamundipuram in city will be held from July 8 to 10.
Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, the Centenary Celebration Committee President D. Sripathi Jois said that Mudabidri’s Bhattaraka Charukeerthi Panditacharya Swamiji will inaugurate the celebration at 2 pm on July 8. Maleyur Kanakagiri Jain Mutt Seer Bhuvanakeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji will grace the occasion. MLA S.A. Ramdas, Corporator M.V. Ramprasad will take part, he said.
On July 9, SDM College faculty N. Devendra Kumar will deliver a religious talk at 2 pm. On July 10, special rituals will be held at 8 am, which will be graced by Bhattaraka Swamiji. Hombuja Mutt Seer Devendra Keerti Bhattaraka Swamiji will release a souvenir titled ‘Shatamana Darshini’ on the occasion.
Meritorious students from the community who have scored high marks in SSLC and PUC will be awarded cash prizes, he said and added that cultural programmes will be held at 7 pm on all the 3 days.
Committee office-bearers Lakshmi Ramana, Jinaraja Prasad, Chandan Kumar and Mahaveer Prasad were present at the press meet.
