Mysuru: Former Parakala Mutt Secretary Venkatanathan (85), passed away at a private hospital here yesterday.
A resident of Saraswathipuram in city, he had served as a Sanskrit Professor at Manasagangothri and also as a ‘Guru’ of the Mysuru Royal family.
He leaves behind his wife Rukmini and a host of relatives and friends.
His last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill this afternoon, according to family sources.
