Parish Community take up Cleanliness Drive

Celebrates Intl. Women’s Day

Mysuru: The Parish Community of St. Mother Teresa of Kolkata Church, Rajiv Nagar, conducted dual programme recently.

The Women’s Cell celebrated International Women’s Day. The chief guest Pushpavalli, former Deputy Mayor, appreciated the activities conducted by the Women Cell and distributed mementos in appreciation of the selfless service rendered by deserving Mothers in the Parish.

As a tradition this year too, the Parish Community organised a Cleanliness Drive in the Christian Colony with a motto: ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’ as part of Lenten Service and Swacch Bharat Abhiyan. The Cleanliness Drive was led by Pushpavalli along with special invitees. The Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Richard Rony D’Almeida, Assistant Priest Fr. Edward Ferrao and the Parishioners collectively took part with enthusiasm picking plastic and thrash mounting almost a truckload. Among the special invitees, Bro. Jayaprakash DDS, Bro. Romanus MC, Sr. Rita Oblates, Karunyamatha Convent, Sr. Jyothi Fernandes, Maria Vidya Nivas Convent, Elizabeth Livero, President of Mother Teresa’s Women Cell, Rajiv Nagar, Irene D’Souza, former President of Catholic Women’s League, Emily Raj, Executive Member of Catholic Council of Karnataka (CCK), Parish Pastoral Council Vice-President Joseph Alexander were present at the programme.
