Chamarajanagar: Kannada film producer late Parvathamma Rajkumar’s nephew and actor 24-year-old Suraj has lost his leg in a road accident on Mysuru-Gundlupet Highway near Begur in Gundlupet taluk of Chamarajanagar district on Saturday evening.
Suraj is the son of late Parvathamma Rajkumar’s younger brother S.A. Srinivas and a resident of Saraswathipuram in Mysuru.
Suraj was said to be proceeding to Ooty, when the accident took place between his bike and a tipper vehicle. The tipper vehicle ran over Suraj’s right leg crushing it completely. He was rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru where the doctors performed below-knee amputation surgery on the right leg as a life- saving procedure.
A budding actor, Suraj had changed his name as Dhruwan to enter sandalwood and had taken part in film shootings. He had also announced the release of 2-3 films including ‘Bhagawan Srikrishna Paramathma.’
Suraj is undergoing treatment in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the private hospital where he will remain for three to four days.
Actor Shivarajkumar, his wife Geetha Shivarajkumar, producer Chinnegowda and relatives visited the hospital and inquired about the health of Suraj.
