Passenger killed as autorickshaw rams into bus

Mysuru: In a tragic incident, a passenger, travelling in an autorickshaw was killed, when the auto in which he was travelling rammed into a KRSTC bus near the Gun House Bridge last afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Ravikumar (53), a resident of Togaribeedhi 1st Cross in K.R. Mohalla here. Following the mishap, the Cops have taken auto driver Paramesh into custody.

It is reported that the Mysuru-Coimbatore KSRTC bus (KA-09 F-5243) belonging to Hunsur Division was proceeding on the bridge near the Gun House, when the speeding autorickshaw (KA-05 AA-4804) coming from Nanjangud side rammed into the KSRTC bus injuring Ravikumar, who died while being shifted to a hospital.

Auto driver Paramesh, managed to jump out of the auto before it rammed into the bus.

It is learnt that auto driver Paramesh and deceased passenger Ravikumar were friends and had consumed liquor, which is said to be the cause for the mishap.

K.R. Traffic Police, who have arrested Paramesh, have registered a case and are investigating.
