The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru: Independence Day-2022 was celebrated at the Administrative Block of the Institute. The Tricolour was unfurled by Dr. M.S. Ranganath, President, NIE-MC. Dr. Rohini Nagapadma, Principal, NIE, presided. Dr. Ganesh Prasad, Vice-Principal, Teaching, Non-Teaching, Administrative Staff and students were present.
Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Mysore Centre: The 75th Independence Day function was held at BAI Office in Vishweshwaranagar, with Flag hoisting by C.K. Basappa, an Ex-Army Subedar, who was the chief guest. BAI Mysore Centre Chairman R. Raghunath, Hon. Secretary V. Srinath, MBCT Managing Trustee A.V. Sridhar, Hon. Secretary M.S. Ramprasad, Hon. Treasurer S. Mahadevaswamy, Spoorthi President Vani Subramanya, Hon. Secretary Nanda Rathnaraj, Hon. Treasurer Jahanavi Dinesh, BAI members along with their family were present.
Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled (NR Foundation), Mysuru: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated in the school premises. Aparna Ranga, President, Mysore Amity Ladies Circle – 108 and Vidushi Dr. Deepika Pandurangi, were the chief guests. R. Guru, Chairman, Murthy, Anirudh Ranga and Ranga Family members hoisted the Flag. Students performed drill, march-past and pyramid formation.
Pandit’s The Orchids Public School and PU College, Kumarabeedu: Group Captain V.S. Shivaraj, IAF, who was the chief guest, unfurled the National Flag and inspired students with his motivational talk on patriotism and service to our motherland. Ullas Pandit, Secretary, Yeshoda Pandit, CEO and Dr. Dayaprasad, Principal of The Orchids Public School were present. Students gave a splendid cultural performance.
Sahara School for Children with Special Needs (Minhaj Interfaith & Welfare Foundation), Udayagiri: 75th Independence Day was celebrated with Flag hoisting by Ibrahim Khan, Sarparast (Patron), miwf, Mysuru, P.K. Construction and Afroz Khan, JK Traders, Mysuru. Cultural programme included a group dance by children and fancy dress by young kids. Sahara School Managing Director Irfana Husen, Fazeelath, Head Mistress, Md. Khadeer Khan, Md. Kaleemulla, Gopal, Md. Noorul Hassan, Md. Azhar, Md. Kausar and others were present.
CFTRI Layout Residents Welfare Association: Independence Day was celebrated at CFTRI Layout, Bogadi 2nd Stage. After Flag hoisting, three Pourakarmikas, a Postman and a Police official were felicitated by the Association members.
Seshadripuram Degree College, Hebbal Ring Road, Mysuru: In the spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Seshadripuram Degree College as well as Seshadripuram Independent PU College in association with IQAC, NSS and NCC celebrated the Independence Day. Vadiraj Bhatt, Technocrat-cum-Founder of One School At A Time (OSAAT), who was the chief guest, unfurled the Tricolour and thereafter the National Anthem was sung.
Vadiraj Bhatt, addressing students, said freedom lay in society and it is won when our society is redeemed from the vice and disparities.
Students presented dance, patriotic songs and skit. Prizes were awarded to the victors who participated in various competitions held during the academic year 2021-22.
Prof. K. Sowmya Erappa, Principal, Seshadripuram Degree College, N. Archana Swamy, Principal, SIPUC and others were present.
GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women, Mysuru: 75th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. Prof. Mysuru Krishnamurthy, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Kannada, Maharani’s Women’s Commerce and Management College, Mysuru, who was the chief guest, hoisted the National Flag accompanied by Dr. Shivakumar, Principal GSSSIETW. This was followed by National Anthem.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest reminded the hardships of the freedom fighters and their contribution in making India an Independent country since 15th August 1947. He shared the success stories of the citizens of India who have shown integrity even with much diversity.
Dr. Shivakumar spoke about the remarkable developments of India in the field of agriculture, industry, irrigation, energy production, nuclear power capability, space technology, biotechnology, telecommunication, science, technology and research. He shared about the “Science, Technology and Innovation Policy 2020” with a core vision of being decentralised, evidence informed, bottom-up approach and experts-driven and also about the National Education Policy (NEP- 2020) and its benefits to students.
