Mysore/Mysuru: Noted Yakshagana exponent and Coordinator, Mangaluru Unit of Hindu Jagarana Vedike, B. Ganaraja Bhat Kedila from Puttur called upon youths to build a strong India where patriotism is given paramount importance.

He was speaking at a guest lecture “Come, Let’s together build a strong India,” organised by Rotary Mysore Midtown, Rotary Mysore North and Rotary Brindavan at Rotary Centre, JLB Road in city recently.

A Yakshagana artiste par excellence, Ganaraja Bhat was at his best analysing India’s strong culture and systems. As a child he began inculcating the spirit of nationalism and patriotism and also Indian values from his mother, said Ganaraja Bhat recalling the sacrifices made by Armed Forces.

“They sacrifice their lives to us and the least we can do is to remember their supreme sacrifices. We have to teach our children about our history and how the nation was alive and kicking despite the onslaught of invaders. We have to pass on our traditions to the younger generations,” he said.  Vijayanagar First Stage Corporator M.U. Subbaiah and Tilaknagar Corporator Rangaswamy too attended the programme.
