Peace meeting held

Mysore/Mysuru: In view of the forthcoming Ganesha Chaturthi and Eid-Milad festivals, a peace meeting was held by the N.R. and Mandi Police at Utsava Hall on Shivaji Road in N.R. Mohalla here on Tuesday.

Addressing the meeting, Mandi Police Inspector Nagesh and N.R. Police Inspector Lakshmikanth Talwar said that Ganesha Pandal organisers should keep round-the-clock vigil until the idol is immersed. Pointing out that the organisers should take prior permission from the Police for Ganesha idol installation in public,  they  stressed on the need for maintaining peace and harmony during the festival. The Police cautioned against unauthorised use of loud speakers, collection of money from the public in the name of idol installation and any disturbance during idol immersion. They also warned of legal action if there is any violation of law and order.

Likewise, the Police also asked the citizens to celebrate Eid Milad without any public disturbance or inconvenience and in a peaceful and harmonious manner.

Former Corporator Suhail Baig, leaders Giridhar, Mumtaz, Farooq and others were present.
