Pedestrian dies as KSRTC bus hits

Mysore/Mysuru: A 57-year-old woman was killed on the spot when a KSRTC city bus hit her while she was crossing the Vani Vilas Road in front of KR Police Station on Monday morning.

The deceased woman is Susheelamma, wife of N. Nagaraju and a resident of Kuvempunagar ‘M’ Block in city.

The bus (KA-09-F-4377) attached to Kuvempunagar KSRTC Depot was proceeding from Agrahara Circle towards Siddappa Square, when it hit Susheelamma in front of the Police Station at about 11.10 am, killing her on the spot.

K.R. Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem besides seizing the bus and interrogating bus driver Venkataraju.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Parashuramappa visited the spot.
