Pejawar Seer presents awards to scholars

Mysore/Mysuru: Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji said that Sri Vidyamanya Teertha Swamiji has made a lot of contribution to Dharma, Vedanta and Madhwa Philosophies.

He was speaking at Sri Vedavyasa Rashtriya Jayanti and Sri Vidyamanya Teertha Aradhanotsava at a programme organised by Udupi Bhandarakeri Mutt at Sarada Vilas College Centenary Hall in Krishnamurthypuram here recently.

Pointing out that the life and achievements of Vidyamanya Teertha is very much significant, he said that Sri Vidyamanya Teertha has rendered yeoman service in reaching Madhwa’s philosophy to the new generation. He said that the late Seer is also a guru who taught Pejawar, Palimaru and Bhandarakeri Mutts’ young seers (Yuva Yatis).

Noting that Bhandarakeri Mutt has been rendering hundreds of religious and social services for over three decades by treading the path of Sri Vidyamanya, he said that the Mutt has become a model to others in recognising the contribution of scholars.

P. Keshavabayari, retired Principal of Bengaluru’s Poornaprajna Vidyapeetha, was conferred with ‘Sriraja Vidyavandya’ award, Sagri Raghavendra Upadhyaya of Udupi Moodusagri Paravidya Pratishtana with ‘Vedapeetha’ award, Bengaluru’s Satyapramod Katti with ‘Srisatyatirtha Anugraha’ award, N. Ganapathy Bhat of Bengaluru’s Vidyamanyanagar with ‘Sri Bhandarakeri Rajahamsa’ award and former TTD Board Member D.P. Anantha with ‘Sreesha Rajadarshan’ award on the occasion.

‘Vidyesha Vittalankita Krutimanjari,’ a collection of more than 200 poems written by Sri Vidyesha Teertha Swamiji, was also released on the occasion.

Sosale Vyasaraja Mutt Seer Sri Vidyashreesha Teertha Swamiji, Bhandarakeri Mutt Seer Sri Vidyesha Teertha Swamiji, Bengaluru Poornaprajna Vidyapeetha Principal Dr. H. Sathyanarayanacharya and others were present.

Earlier, a  portrait of Vedavyasa was brought in a grand procession from Sosale Vyasaraja Vidyapeetha in Krishnamurthypuram to Sarada Vilas College.
