Valmiki Corporation, MUDA, Waqf Board issues had minimal impact on voters: Tanveer Sait
Mysuru: Social Welfare and District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa stated that the people have given a decisive reply to the political tactics of the BJP and JD(S) by voting for Congress.
Speaking to the media at the Zilla Panchayat in city yesterday, Dr. Mahadevappa expressed that the people had extended their blessings to the Congress party and shown their support for the Siddaramaiah Government.
He credited the Government’s five guarantee schemes for the Congress’s success, stating that voters had overwhelmingly supported the party, despite negative publicity from rival parties.
“The BJP and JD(S) resorted to Goebbelsian propaganda, but it bore no fruit,” said Dr. Mahadevappa.
Minister for Sericulture K. Venkatesh highlighted that people are least concerned about the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, in which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is accused. This was reflected in the significant support Congress received in the by-elections.
He also pointed out that the public is increasingly aware of how former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda has been practising dynastic politics.
Venkatesh further added that Vokkaligas, in particular, have now learned their lesson, indicating that the political landscape is shifting. Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait, also the KPCC Working President, stated that the by-election results were a clear response to the unholy alliance between the BJP and JD(S).
He noted that issues related to the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation, MUDA and the Karnataka State Waqf Board had minimal impact on the results, while the Government’s development work resonated with the electorate.
MLC Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah described the by-poll victory as a show of moral support for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
