People taking pet dogs atop Chamundi Hill ruffles feathers

May 13, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: Members of the public, who have objected to people climbing the Chamundi Hill steps with their pet dogs, are urging the District Administration to put a stop to it.

They argued that this practice is causing inconvenience to devotees, tourists and their families, who fear being bitten by dogs while climbing the Hill steps. Despite several complaints lodged with the authorities concerned at Chamundi Hill, no action has been taken so far.

International sportsperson Basavaraju pointed out that there is a ban on walking with pet dogs, but no one seems to be following the rule. He urged the authorities to put up a signboard at the foot of the Hill steps mentioning the ban on climbing the Hill steps with pet dogs.
