Peripheral Ring Road DPR tender deadline extended to Aug. 1

Mysore/Mysuru: The MUDA has extended the deadline for the tender for submission of Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the construction of Peripheral Ring Road to Aug.1.

The MUDA had invited global tenders from experienced companies/agencies on July 8 for submission of a Detailed Project Report for construction of 105 to 110 km-long Peripheral Ring Road as per the design of the proposed project and had set July 23 as the deadline. But so far, only one company had shown interest in the project and subsequently, MUDA extended the deadline to Aug. 1 in anticipation of more tenders.

Now coming to the  project, MUDA has identified lands on which the Peripheral Ring Road will pass through and an alignment has already been made, while ensuring that the road does not pass through existing village and also avoid  running through river, forest area, canals, lakes and other water bodies.

Accordingly, the DPR should contain details on the alternate routes to be taken in case of water bodies coming in the way, access to roads nearby that can be used, quantity of land required and total cost of the Project. Apart from this, the DPR should have details of translocation of overhead power lines, other electrical installations, compensation to be provided  for felling down of fruit and other valuable trees, demolition of structures and other constructions for the purpose, construction of Over and Under Bridges, service roads, main corridor of Peripheral Ring Road and other infrastructure.

It may be mentioned that MUDA in its annual budget, had earmarked Rs. 10 crore for the DPR. Now, MUDA, which has extended the deadline, is in anticipation of a larger participation by experienced companies, which can prepare the DPR in accordance with the project specifications, with least cost.
