Personality development camp for medicos at Suttur

Mysuru: JSS Mahavidyapeetha in association with API, Mysuru and ACP, India Chapter, conducted a personality development camp for medical students at Suttur Srikshetra recently. About 200 medicos from JSS Medical College and MMC & RI  attended the programme.

Sri Siddeshwara Swamiji of Jnanayogashrama, Vijayapura, while speaking  on the role of spirituality in personality development, advised  the students to inculcate spirituality in their life which will help them in getting the solutions to their problems  in their day to day activities.

He wanted the students to be more spiritualistic than materialistic in life.

Deliberations in the camp included lectures on leadership qualities, communication skills, time management and punctuality, interpersonal relationships, stress management, medico-legal issues, ethics and secrets to become a successful doctor.  

A lecture on role of clean environment for a healthy society by Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, prayer and yoga sessions were part of the programme.  

Dr. B. Suresh, Vice-Chancellor, JSS University, emphasised the need for present day teachers to focus on overall development of students and not limit themselves to teach routine academic issues.

Earlier, Dr. M. Suresh Babu, Professor of Medicine, JSS Medical College and Programme Coordinator gave a brief introduction  about the camp. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji  graced the occasion.
