Petty quarrel leads to man’s murder

Periyapatna: An incident of a petty quarrel leading to the murder of a man has been reported from Ganganakuppe village in the taluk. The deceased has been identified as Swamygowda, a resident of Ganganakuppe.

The quarrel took place on Oct. 29 evening when Swamygowda along with his brother Yogesh went to the house of one Kalegowda in the village to ask for tobacco grading money, when Kalegowda’s relatives identified as Devendra, Lava, Kusha, Gowramma, Shivamma and others allegedly assaulted them with sticks leaving Swamygowda seriously injured.

Though Swamygowda was rushed to a hospital in Periyapatna, he breathed his last yesterday after failing to respond to the treatment. Bettadapura Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
