Somanna has been awarded Ph.D in Economics by the University of Mysore for his thesis ‘The Role of Social Welfare Department in the socio-economic development of SCs and STs in Karnataka with special reference to Mysore District’ submitted under the guidance of Dr. V. Shanmugam.
