Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) has awarded Ph.D in Social Work to M.C. Sandhyarani for her thesis ‘A Study on the mental health of institutionalized adolescent girls-with special reference to Government Home for Girls, Karnataka’ submitted under the guidance of Dr. C. Usha Rao.

S.P. Umadevi has been awarded Ph.D in Jainology and Prakrit by the UoM for her thesis ‘Mooraneya Mangarasana Kavyagalu: Samskkrutika Adhyayana’ [Guide: Dr. Padma Shekar].

M.C. Manjunatha has been awarded Ph.D in Earth Science by the UoM for his thesis ‘Applications of hyperspectral remote sensing and GIS on NE-SW Transects of Chitradurga, Karnataka’ [Guide: Dr. H.T. Basavarajapa].

M.C. Prabhavathi has been awarded Ph.D in Economics  by the UoM for her thesis ‘An analysis of labour downsizing in Karnataka: A study of  public sector industries in Mysore District’ [Guide: Dr. D.S. Leelavathi].

The Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, has awarded Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering to S. A. Mohan Krishna for his thesis ‘Thermal Characterisation of Al 6061-SiC-Graphite Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites’ submitted under the guidance of Dr. T. N. Shridhar and Dr. L. Krishnamurthy.
