Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) has awarded Ph.D degree in Anthropology to K. Shivakumar, Principal Correspondent, The New Indian Express, Mysuru, for his thesis titled  ‘Post-Veerappan Era: A study of the Socio-Economic and Communication Development in Chamarajanagar District, Karnataka.’ He worked under the guidance of Dr. M.R. Gangadhar.

B.V. Chaitra has been awarded Ph.D in Education by the UoM for her thesis ‘A Comparative Study of Tribal and Non-Tribal Secondary School Students with Reference to Their Environmental Awareness, Environmental Ethics and Environmental Action Behaviour’ submitted under the guidance of Dr. K.B. Praveena.

Rohini Sangappa Dalavay has been awarded Ph.D in History by the UoM for her thesis ‘Renaissance in Princely Mysore (1861-1940)’ submitted under the guidance of Dr. Aswathanarayana.

Rachoti Devaru has been awarded Ph.D in Sanskrit by the UoM for his thesis ‘Vaidika Vangmaye Svapnashastrasya Sameekshatmakam, Adhyayanam’ submitted under the guidance of Dr. B.A. Doddamani.

S.N. Lavanya has been awarded Ph.D in Botany by the University of Mysore for her thesis ‘Studies on Defense Mechanism Profile During Pearl Millet Downy Mildew Disease Interaction by Different Elicitors’ submitted under the guidance of  Dr. K.N. Amruthesh.

The University of Mysore has awarded Ph.D in Biochemistry to B.R. Shivalingu for his thesis ‘Isolation and Characterisation of Hemostatically Active Protease from Turmeric Species: Exploring its Role in Wound Healing’ submitted under the guidance of Dr. D. Nanjunda Swamy.
