Plastic and Paper National Flags banned: DC

Mysuru:  In the wake of Republic Day celebration on Jan.26, Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep has asked the traders not to sell plastic and paper National Flags.

In a press release, the DC said that the sale of plastic and paper Flags has been banned as there were widespread complaints of their inappropriate use by School/ College students and members of the public.

Instructing all Government offices and Schools and Colleges to compulsorily celebrate Republic Day, the DC said as part of the celebration, a march-past by School/ College students and cultural programmes have been organised at Bannimantap Torchlight Parade Ground at 9 am on Jan.26, which will be followed by a cultural programme at Kalamandira at 5 pm.

All Government employees and members of the public are appealed to take part in the celebration, the release said.
