Play ‘Tipu Sultan’

Sri Nanjundeshwara Kannada Kala Sangha, Mysuru, staged the historic drama ‘Tipu Sultan’ at Ayyappa Swamy Temple premises in Nanjangud recently as part of Drama Festival organised by Ayyappa Swamy Temple authorities. The drama was directed by stage artiste Shiva Swamy of Mysuru.

The following artistes enacted the play: Shiva Swamy (Tipu Sultan),  Dr. N.N. Prahallada (Lord Cornwallis), CFTRI Nagendra (Poornaiah), H.Y. Rajeshwar (Tirumala Chetty), Anantha (Mir Sadique), Manjula Raj (Jayanthi), Suresh (Pramukha), Panchalingaiah (Abdul Gafar), Arjun and Rishikesh (Tipu sons), Mary (dancer), Mahadeva (Lord Venkateshwara) and S. Jayashankar  (farmer).

Costume and make-up was by Murthy and Shivanna. Music was scored by Alex and Naganna.
