Plea to expedite NIMHANS-model Hospital in Mysuru

Mysuru: Even as  the row rages over NIMHANS- model Hospital site at Gudumadanahalli in Varuna Hobli of Mysuru taluk, with farmers and several other organisations opposing the selection of the spot on the grounds that fertile land and greenery will be wiped out, Mysuru Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) President Dr. K.B. Lingaraju has demanded expedition of the execution of the Hospital Project.

In a press statement, he said the District Administration has handed over 20 acres of land at Gudumadanahalli for the construction of the Hospital.

Underlining that the construction of the Hospital will help a large population of Mysuru region, he maintained that it would also be convenient for industrial workers and other labourers to visit it for their medical needs, as the Hospital is expected to provide top quality mental health care and neurological treatments.

Arguing that the establishment of NIMHANS here would save time, money and energy for patients from Mysuru and surrounding districts as they can avoid visiting the Bengaluru Hospital, he urged the Government to initiate steps for the construction of the Hospital without any further delay.
