Mysuru: The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has organised PM-SVANidhi Mahotsava for street vendors at Dasara Exhibition Grounds in city on Jan. 3 from 10 am to 6.30 pm under Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM).
The main aim of the programme is to identify street vendors, encourage and felicitate them and also to create awareness about cleanliness and hygiene to them.
During the day-long programme, cultural events, sports and various competitions have been organised along with short-film screening about DAY-NULM Scheme for the street vendors and their family. Training about transactions and other details will be imparted from the banks. Aahara Mela (Food Fair), display-cum-sale of products by Self Help Groups and successful stories of PM-SVANidhi Scheme will be showcased.
Children of street vendors who have scored more than 85 percent in SSLC, more than 75 percent in PUC and Degree courses will be given incentives. Also, Identity Card and licence for street vendors will be distributed for street vendors. Street vendors of MCC limits may take part in the programme and make use of it, according to a press release from the MCC Additional Commissioner.
