Siddapura (Kodagu): Meenukolli Division Forest personnel have arrested three poachers, who had hunted a Sambar in the Reserve Forest area and were transporting th meat illegally.
The arrested are 42-year-old Mahesh, 60-year-old Vishwanath and 38-year-old Chandrashekar, all residents of Hosapatna near Nanjarayapatna.
The accused had hunted the Sambar at Dubare Reserve Forest and were transporting the meat via Hosapatna when Kushalnagar Sub-Division Forest Officer Subraya and staff arrested the three accused besides seizing the meat.
Madikeri DFO Prabhakaran supervised ACF Nehru, RFO Ananya Kumar, Subraya and staff Charan Kumar, Kiran, Albert D’Souza, Ravi Utnal, Appaswamy and Vasu in the nabbing and seizing operation.
