Poetic tributes paid to late Ambarish

Mysuru: Spandana Samskrutika Parishat and Negilayogi Samajaseva Trust had organised a function titled ‘Nudi Mattu Kavya Namana’ in memory of late Actor Ambarish at Negilayogi Maraleshwara Seva Bhavana in K.G. Koppal here this morning.

Inaugurating the programme by watering a plant Theatre Artiste and Actor Mandya Ramesh said that though Ambarish appeared harsh and curt, the person was down to earth and soft at heart. He opined that youth should be drawn to theatre and literature in a constructive way.

Parishat President T. Satish Javaregowda suggested the Government to establish an Ambarish Trust in Mandya to train film artistes and technicians which can also evolve as a Research Centre.

About 15 poets participated in the programme and recited poems on Ambarish composed by them.

Writer Dr. Malali Vasanthkumar, District Congress Committee President Dr. B.J. Vijayakumar, Theatre Artiste Rajashekar Kadamba, Trust President D. Ravikumar and other were present.

A two-minute silence was observed at the beginning of the programme to pay tributes to late Ambarish.
