Mysuru: Communist Party of India (Marxist) — CPI(M) — workers staged a protest near Ramaswamy Circle in city yesterday, condemning the alleged Police atrocity on environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was staging indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, over the leak of question paper of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), conducted for MBBS and other courses.
The protesters said, following the NEET question paper leak, over 20 medical course aspirants have ended their lives. However, the BJP-led Central Government continues to behave in a despotic attitude, without any remorse to the innocent lives of students. The Central Government should wake up and the Union Minister Pradhan should resign, they demanded.
CPI(M) District Secretary Jagadish Surya, District Committee Members N. Vijay Kumar, G. Jayaram, Leelavathi, Mehboob, Local Committee Secretary Subramanya, Rajendra, Annappa, Student Leader Vijay Kumar, Abhi, Razia, Priya, Jeevan, Balajirao, Balaram, Basavaiah, Raghavendra, Sridhar, Chandrashekar, Eshwar and Prabhakar were present during the protest.
