Mysuru: The two-day Mysuru Zonal-level Police Duty Meet-2026 concluded at the Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) Grounds.
Speaking at the valedictory function on Thursday, City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar said, the Police must take cases to their logical end by collecting all relevant evidence and ensuring that the accused are convicted and sentenced by the Courts.
Observing that a case reaches its logical conclusion when the accused is sentenced by the Court, Seema Latkar expressed concern over the low conviction rate and said that the Police should ensure that culprits do not go scot-free.
“It is important to train most of the staff at a Police Station in investigation skills and acumen. Entrusting the responsibility of investigating all cases to just a couple of Police officers can affect the quality of investigation. Hence, greater focus must be placed on professionalism, investigation skills and scientific evaluation while investigating cases,” she said.
Mandya District Police bagged the overall Best Unit prize while Mysuru stood second. Mysuru City Police dog ‘Yodha’ won the Best Dog prize.
SP Mallikarjun Baladandi, DCP K.S. Sundar Raj and Additional SP C. Mallick, who is also the Principal of the Police Training School (PTS), were present.
