Police foil BJP’s attempt to lay siege to MUDA office

July 4, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Even as the BJP continued its statewide protest over the alleged MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) scam involving thousands of crores of rupees, the Police foiled the city BJP Unit’s attempt to lay siege to MUDA office on JLB road this morning, seeking the resignation of Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh whom they claimed is involved in the scam.

Over a hundred BJP workers who gathered at the BJP office in Chamarajapuram, went in a procession to the MUDA office shouting slogans such as ‘MUDA Rakshishi’ (Save MUDA) against CM Siddaramaiah and demanding the resignation of Minister Byrathi Suresh. But as the procession reached Ramaswamy circle, the Police took BJP workers into preventive custody, thus foiling the party’s plan to lay siege to MUDA office.

Former Mayor Shivakumar, BJP leaders Rakesh Gowda, Jogi Manju and others were present.
