Police Officers trek to Karighatta Hill

Mandya: The District Police Officers who always work under tremendous stress were weaned away for a while from stress, by organising a trekking, yoga and meditation programme for them at Karighatta in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district, here recently.

The trekking was organised for the first time under the leadership of Mandya Superintendent of Police (SP) Radhika. The Police officers trekked atop Karighatta, a beautiful hillock and they were completely invigorated with the experience.

They took pictures standing on the edge of the hillock and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Then they all gathered in front of the Sri Venkataramana Temple for a group yoga and meditation session, which helped them relax their minds.

Later, SP Radhika speaking said that nearly 100 officers in the taluk including Sub-Inspectors participated in the trekking, yoga and meditation sessions.

The trek to reach the top was for nearly 3 kms and all of them enjoyed as they work under huge pressure. Also just one person cannot work in the Police Department. Team work is very important. Hence, in order to see that there is bondage among the officers, this trek was organised, she added.

In the coming days along with trekking, walking, cycling, swimming and other games will be organised for the Department staff, said Radhika.
