Police patrolling vehicles too create awareness on pandemic

Mysore/Mysuru: Vidyaranyapuram Police have launched a unique campaign to create awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic. They are now using their patrolling vehicles to carry message of safety.

The rear windshield of the three patrolling vehicles belonging to Vidyaranyapuram Police Station are now adorned with Corona Safety posters carrying messages such as ‘Say namaste instead of hand shake,’ ‘Say namaste to welcome others’ and ‘Keep away from the virus and stay safe.’

Inspector D. Manjunath, speaking to Star of Mysore, said that the Police personnel, for the past eight days, have been going rounds in the area and are distributing pamphlets regarding the contagion to create awareness among the public. Also, awareness posters have been put up at major Circles coming under Vidyaranyapuram Police limits, he added.

DCP Dr. A.N. Prakash Gowda said that the City Police are creating awareness among the public by distributing pamphlets, pasting posters at Circles and also by displaying awareness messages on their personal vehicles. Such Awareness Campaigns are being held by all Police Stations across the city, he added.
