Cops to question staff at nearby Primary Health Centres

Mysuru, June 13 (GA&BS)- The Narasimharaja (NR) Police, who are investigating the mysterious case of a foetus found on Bade Makhan Main Road in city, are likely to question staff at nearby Primary Health Centres (PHCs) as part of the probe.

The female foetus, estimated to be around four months old, was discovered by residents on Thursday night. Police suspect it may have been washed onto the roadside by overflowing drain water following heavy rain earlier that evening.

Investigators are examining whether the foetus was the result of a miscarriage or an illegal abortion. As part of the investigation, Police will gather information from nearby health centres and other                                                              relevant sources.

According to Police sources, the foetus has been preserved in the freezer at the mortuary of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI). It will be kept there for a few more days before an autopsy is conducted.

It may be recalled that Star of Mysore had carried an exclusive report on the incident under the headline, ‘Heavy Rains Expose Evil Deed as Foetus Washes Up a Drain,’ in its June 11, 2026 edition.
