Mysuru: The Police have made elaborate security arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents during Holi celebrations in city on Mar. 20 and Mar. 21. The Police have deployed adequate personnel and Police Stations have been asked to take up measures to prevent hooligans from creating law and order problem. Forceful application of colour and collection of donation have been banned.
Cops have been directed to keep an eye on people who roam in the streets after consuming liquor and create a nuisance. Revellers have been prevented from splashing colours on girls after entering their paying guest accommodation and girl’s hostel, said a communication from the City Police Commissioner.
The Police officials said that those indulging in mischief in the garb of revelry would be taken to task and peace and harmony will be maintained in sensitive areas. Police will also keep constant vigil on eve-teasers and strict action will be taken on hooligans found passing lewd comments on girls and women. Cops in plain-clothes have been deployed for a watchful eye on crowds especially youths.
Permission must for Kamadahan
Revellers must obtain prior permission from the Police to conduct the Kamadahan, a fire burning ritual, after showing the spot to the Police. Organisers will be held responsible in case of fire accidents at Kamadahan spots. Conducting this ritual on the middle of the road, public places and collecting firewood from pubic forcefully is also prohibited.
Organisers should also obtain permission from CESC to draw electricity connection to Kamadahan spot and drawing power connections directly without permission would be penalised. Using loudspeakers during night and disturbing peace in the area is also prohibited besides the organisers must end cultural programmes before 10 pm.
Transportation of liquor, drunken -driving, over-speeding and dangerous driving are banned. Revellers should also not raise slogans near temples, churches, mosques and other prayer centres. Prior permission from the Police is a must to hold rallies and processions.
Public are requested to contact the nearest Police Station or dial Police Control Room Helpline numbers 100, 2418139 or 2418339 if people are found disturbing peace in their vicinity.
