Police trainees get hands-on CPR training

Mysuru: Cauvery Heart and Multi Specialty Hospital, Siddarthanagar in association with Indian Society of Anesthesiologists, Mysore City Branch, conducted a two-day workshop on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), basic life support, emergency first aid and trauma care at the Police Training School located at Jyothinagar here recently. 

During the workshop, the participants were given hands on training in identifying life-threatening injuries after trauma, triage (decide on order of treatment for patients), basic first aid, safe transport of trauma victims along with administering emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for victims of cardiac arrest. 

The workshop was coordinated by Dr. R. Vaidyanathan, Director, Critical Care and Emergency Services, Cauvery Heart and Multi Specialty Hospital. Other faculty members were ISA Mysuru City Branch President Dr. Mahadev, Secretary Dr. Pratibha, Cauvery Institute of Allied Health Sciences Principal Dr. Aravind, Dr. Anil, Dr. Anup, Dr. K.M. Girish, Dr. Akhila, Dr. Pavithra and senior paramedical staff of the hospital.
