By-poll: BJP MPs Sriramulu, Shobha campaign for Prasad in Nanjangud

Stepping up its campaign to wrest the Nanjangud (SC) Assembly seat, the BJP has deputed its top State leaders to extensively tour the constituency in the run up to the Apr. 9 by-poll.

Today, sitting MPs B. Sriramulu and Shobha Karandlaje, who are also former Ministers, toured villages coming under Teguru and Diddalli Gram Panchayats of the taluk seeking votes for BJP candidate V. Sreenivasa Prasad.

Speaking to press persons at Teguru during the course of campaign, Sriramulu claimed that the four-year-old Congress Government in the State had miserably failed on all fronts.

Stating that many Congress leaders from SC/ST communities, who were upset with the Government’s style of  functioning, were eager to join the BJP, he said that he would announce the names of such leaders at an appropriate time.

Referring to the indefinite stir launched by Anganawadi workers in Bengaluru, Sriramulu said that the protest was a result of the Government’s deaf ears to the problems of the people.

Maintaining that the Congress Government was running with ‘ventilator support’, he said that there was no doubt that the BJP would come to power in next year’s Assembly polls.

Lashing out at the Congress Government, he appealed the voters to elect Sreenivasa Prasad to ensure real development in the constituency.

Shobha Karandlaje, who also spoke, said that honest leaders were ignored by the Congress Government and those with money power had entered into the State Cabinet.

Calling upon party workers to take PM Modi’s development agenda to the doorstep of every voter, she said there was no doubt in Prasad winning the by-poll.
