With the announcement of poll date for Nanjangud Assembly bypoll as April 9, the model code of conduct will be in force from Mar. 9 till Apr. 15.
To give no room for any unsavoury incident during the byelection and to maintain law and order, those possessing arms under the Arms Licence Act should surrender the arms with the corresponding Police Station till the election process was completed. People are also banned carrying arms according to a press release by the DC.
