K.R. Nagar: A government official on election work reportedly collapsed while on duty at a check post in the taluk and died in hospital yesterday. Gopalraje Urs (42), Superintendent, Horticulture Department, who was posted at a check post at Doddekoppalu in the taluk, is the deceased.
Gopalraje Urs was said to have complained of chest pain while on duty on Thursday and was rushed to KR Hospital in Mysuru. However, he breathed his last yesterday morning. He leaves behind his wife and two children. On hearing the news, Horticulture Assistant Director C. Chandru visited K.R. Hospital and consoled the grieving family members.
DC Abhiram G. Sankar too visited the hospital and assured to expedite the process of getting government benefits for the family of the deceased.
