Poor maintenance of Park

Sir,

Apropos the recent write-up on the thematic lifelike statuary adorning a public park in Rajiv Nagar, I appreciate Corporator Ayub Khan’s effort to renovate the park, making it useful to the residents.

Here I would like to draw the attention of the authorities under whom the responsibility to upkeep the park at 3rd Stage Kesare lies, adjacent to Momeen Nagar (see picture).

The park lacks basic amenities for use by the residents — walk path with broken tiles, broken fence, no light poles — and is fully covered all the time with weeds. This is also a haven for miscreants to indulge in illegal activities during night hours.

In the past couple of years, the residents of the Colony have tried bringing it to the notice of the concerned but in vain. On behalf of the residents, I once again request the authorities concerned to improve this park and make it a safe place for kids to play and elders to walk, this being the biggest patch of land in the whole of 3rd Stage Kesare.
