Mysuru: Spiritual leader, motivational Speaker and lifestyle coach Gaur Gopal Das said that positive attitude towards simple things in life can bring about success to every man and woman. “Life is full of challenges and gains and losses are common. Man must develop the courage to overcome challenges and losses,” he said.

Gaur Gopal Das was delivering a lecture on ‘Live Right-Feel Great’ last evening at the packed Convocation Hall of Karnataka State Open University on Hunsur Road. The charity event was organised by Rupeetrees Foundation.

His lecture was filled with anecdotes and sprinkled with lots of humour. “Only God is perfect and nobody else. But we must have certain divine characteristics. A right choice is important to lead a good life. If you can change something, change it. If you cannot change a thing, accept it. What cannot be changed must be accepted and people must achieve success in life,” he said.

According to him, choice is one of the most integral aspects of life that can be a game-changer. He emphasised on how one can never choose one’s circumstances but can definitely choose how to deal with them.  “Every person in this world wants to know the secret behind success in professional as well as personal life. Having positive attitude is the key to achieving success in life,” said Das.

“Everybody has a different definition for success, depending upon the various stages of life. Not stopping at achieving short-term goals, we must embrace teachings of our culture, dharma and traditions,” added Das.

A former electrical engineer who had worked at Hewlett-Packard for a while and who entered spiritual field, Gopal Das asked the youth to focus on attitude rather than outer personality. “Our culture teaches us to respect every small thing in our surroundings,” he said.

“One must learn to digest failures and remain determined to achieve success. If you never give up, you go up in life. Also, we must never hesitate to take help from capable persons in desperate times. We must also support those who are in need. Our life must be like a burning candle, which burns itself but bring light to everyone’s life,” he said.

Gaur Gopal Das’ approach to life is an amazing cocktail of ancient Indian philosophies and contemporary psychology. His mantras to life are extremely simple yet are profound and powerful.

Gopal Das is one of the most famous monks in the world whose videos and speeches are widely shared and viewed. A sizeable chunk of his lecture was about the importance of relationships in life and the complications that come along with it. He also spoke about cultivating gratitude and connecting to a higher power.

Materialistic worldview was one more thing he addressed.  He spoke about how driven we are to acquire things, but also remarked about superficiality of materialistic joy.

Sri Trinetramahantha Swamiji of Chandravana Ashram inaugurated the lecture programme, Junior Pontiff of Suttur Mutt Jayarajendra Swamiji, MLA S.A. Ramdas, Star of Mysore Editor-in-Chief K.B. Ganapathy, Chairman of Rupeetrees Foundation Manjunath, Kumari Manjunath and others were present.
