Mandya: The sugar district, after witnessing hectic campaigning for the Assembly polls and with the result to be announced tomorrow, now seems to be on a speculation and betting fever.
There seems to be a straight fight between the Congress and the JD(S) with an unlimited flow of cash and freebies to woo the voters.
The citizens feel that the Election Commission had failed to stop the cash flow. They alleged that the Excise and Police Departments were hyping on a small quantity of liquor and cash seized which citizens feel was just the tip of an ice-berg.
The speculation fever between JD(S) and Congress supporters in seven Constituencies of the district obviously paves way for betting which seems to be predominant in Srirangapatna, Melukote, Nagamangala and Malavalli Constituencies.
